Painting and drawing is where Bente started her creative work over 40 years ago, using her photography as the primary source of inspiration for her artistic work.
It was the expanding of the digital world, that triggered a passion for expression through the camera, and launched Bente into her life and expression in photography.
Formalism and structure through composition underpins all of her work, whatever the topic – architecture, plants, decay, industry, nature. It is the interplay of that structural form and the relationship of the material, texture, shape and light that are found in the interior and exterior spaces we move through, observe and live in, that is the true subject of her work.
